The Communal Biodiversity inventory carried out in 2016  recommended the rehabilitation and reactivation of the network of ponds north of Semoy. Semoy is a French commune, located in the department of Loiret in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

Works carried out:

  • Partial reopening of the vegetation to encourage sunshine in the two ponds and thus facilitate the development of aquatic vegetation;
  • Partial dredging of the two ponds in order to limit silting;
  • Partial reclamation of gently sloping banks to facilitate access to the water for wildlife (especially amphibians) while protecting the banks from erosion;
  • Clearing of downstream ditches to allow the free circulation of water.
