Kongens Kær was an agricultural field before 2009. And was pump drained for more than 50 years. Funding was raised to restore a wet meadow with the purpose of retaining nutrients from upstream agricultural land. But by thinking of NbS and enhancing a multi functional design (recreation, nature conservation, bird sanctuary, climate mitigation, carbon conservation etc.), the area today is known as “The Central park” of Vejle and has hindered more than 6 folding events of a small mew.
